Description

The Dale is a seventeenth-century house with an attached barn, extended in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with an old clay tile roof. The original main house is two storeys high with attics, featuring two hipped attic dormers with leaded lights. The first floor has three three-light leaded casement windows, matching those on the ground floor. A twentieth-century gabled porch has been added. A later projecting gable wing extends to the west end and also has leaded casements. Many windows have moulded timber cornices. To the east end are attached outbuildings, including a one-storey block with attics and a hipped dormer window, and a barn set at a right angle with tiled gable coping.
