Description
Hillside is a house dating from the late 16th century or 17th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, partly roughcast rendered and all colourwashed, with a clay tile roof. The building has one storey and attics, with a gable end facing the road. A central chimney stack is made of stone with a rebuilt brick top, and both this stack and the northern end stack are made of early small bricks. The southern bay is a later addition.
The eastern (front) elevation features three hipped dormers with leaded lights and three first-floor casement windows below. There are four ground floor leaded casements. The northern gable end has a leaded casement on each floor. The western elevation includes a central projecting brick wing with a hipped roof and a box dormer, along with two hipped dormers and four ground floor casements, all of which are leaded. All windows are fitted with timber lintels.
