Description

The Old Mill Cottage is a cottage with origins in the early 16th century, and subsequently altered. It is colour-washed rough cast over a timber frame and has a thatched roof. The cottage originally comprised three bays, with one storey and attics. The central bay demonstrates evidence of an open hall, featuring a chimney stack inserted later and diamond mullions. The left and right bays indicate less substantial timbering and are likely rebuilt or later additions. The ground floor has two two-light horizontal sash windows. Two dormers are present, one with a three-light casement and the other with a two-light horizontal sash with glazing bars. There is a four-panel door. A one-storeyed addition, constructed of colour-washed brick and covered with a pantiled roof, has been added to the front.
