Description
Brook House is a house that dates from the 17th and 19th centuries. It is a two-storey, four-bay timber-framed structure that is partly built on a stone plinth, with sections cased in brick and some areas covered in color-washed rough cast. The house is aligned parallel to the road. In the 19th century, projecting red brick wings were added, with one at the rear to the north and two at the front. The roof is made of old clay tiles, with pantiles on the rear wing.
On the rear elevation, there are two-light horizontal sash windows with glazing bars, and those on the ground floor are set under cambered heads. The house features one plank door and one panelled door, which is framed with a moulded surround, a rectangular fanlight, and a flat hood. There are two red brick ridge stacks and one integral red brick gable end stack. The front elevation has two storeys with muted bays and decorative bargeboards on the projecting gables, while the other windows are also sash windows with glazing bars.
