Description
Claygates is a 17th-century cottage featuring a colour washed rough cast exterior over a timber frame and a thatched roof. The building has a two-room plan and stands two storeys high. Each floor has two casement windows, all of which are 20th-century with glazing bars. A central doorway is located under a thatched gabled wood porch, aligned with a red brick ridge stack. There is a one-storey lean-to addition on the east gable end, which has a hipped thatched roof. Additionally, there is a one-storey and attic 20th-century addition on the west gable end, also thatched.
