Description
Brook Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with early 19th century alterations. It features a pebble-dash finish over a timber frame and has an old clay tile roof. The building has a three-room plan and stands two storeys high, with a lower hipped wing projecting from the rear, surrounded by various lean-to additions.
The front elevation presents an almost symmetrical facade, with an off-centre front door consisting of four panels—two flush and two moulded—topped by a semi-circular fanlight, all set within a moulded surround that includes pilasters with paterae. The two flanking windows and the three windows on the first floor are two-light casements with glazing bars, also in moulded surrounds. The gable ends are adorned with wavy-edged pierced bargeboards.
