Description

This barn, located to the rear of the Manor and belonging to the Grange, dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a 19th-century red brick casing over a timber-framed structure from the 18th century. The barn has a half-hipped old clay tile roof and consists of six bays, making it exceptionally large for this area of the county. Inside, it has a queen post roof structure with curved braces between the posts and tie beams. The original studding and infill have been removed, and 19th-century brick walling has been added further out to create aisles on both sides. The brick wall includes ventilation patterns and has two pairs of double doors on the northeast elevation. The barn is listed for its group value with the Manor.
