Description

Saracen House is a house, later converted into flats, dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with a tile roof and rear stacks. It is three storeys high and features a dentil brick cornice, a rendered band to the first floor, and a tiled pentice roof to the ground floor. There are five windows on each principal façade. The second-floor windows are 16-pane sashes, while the first floor has 20-pane sashes with rubbed brick heads, with a soldier course above the central window. The ground floor has two canted bay windows beneath the pentice roof, supported by wooden brackets. The central entrance is framed by a pilastered doorcase with a segmental overlight. The door has a semi-circular head with a glazed fanlight above glazed panels and four raised and fielded panels to the lower section.
