Description
41 and 42 Welch Gate are two houses built in the mid-18th century, raised in the early 19th century, with some alterations from the late 19th century. They are constructed of brick and have a tile roof with a central stack. The buildings are two storeys high, featuring an attic that is lit by two gabled dormers. A dentilled brick cornice runs along the top. Each house has two windows on the upper floor, which are glazing bar sashes set beneath plastered wedge lintels. On the ground floor, the windows are similar, with the entrance to number 42 located at the left-hand corner and the entrance to number 41 at the right-hand corner. Both entrances have wooden architraves under segmental heads, with a half-glazed door to the left and a plain door to the right. The houses were unoccupied at the time of the survey in June 1985.
