Description
Harfen House is a house, likely dating from 1734, with alterations from the early 19th century and the mid-20th century. It is constructed of painted brick and has a tile roof, with a rear chimney stack. The house is two storeys high with an attic, which is lit by two gabled dormers. The right-hand dormer bears a painted inscription reading "A/ WA/ 1734." On the first floor are two windows: a two-light casement to the left and a three-light casement to the right, both with rubbed brick heads. The ground floor features an eight-pane boxed sash window to the left, a pair of eight-pane boxed sash windows to the right, and an entrance in the right-hand corner. The entrance has a wooden doorcase with pilasters and an open pediment, panelled reveals, and a 20th-century panelled door. This building has group value, contributing to the character of the area.
