Description
Two memorials are located about 6 metres north-east of the vestry of the Church of St Peter and St Paul. These are two chest tombs, one dating from 1797 and the other from the early 19th century. The western tomb is designed as a Greek sarcophagus that stands on a plinth and features a finial on its canopy. It is inscribed: "Sacred to the memory of/ Ann Nott/ late of Worsley in this parish/ She died June 3 1797/ aged 41 years." The eastern tomb has recessed inscription panels that are flanked by panelled pilasters, with a quadrant baluster at each corner. It has a ridged and hipped top, along with a moulded cornice, but the inscription is illegible.
