Description
Church Cottage and Church House is a house that has been divided into two homes. It dates from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The building has a timber frame with painted brick infill and a tiled roof. It is arranged in an L-shape, with the main section facing the street extending to the east and another range to the north.
On the south front, there is a gabled cross-wing on the left and a one-storey range with an attic on the right, which is lit by casement windows in the gable. The ground floor features two 2-light casements flanking an entrance with a 20th-century boarded door. To the left, the cross-wing has two storeys with a gable-lit attic and two single-light casements; the ground floor has a single-light casement on the left and a boarded door with a wooden architrave on the right. The framing consists of four square panels high in the cross-wing and three square panels high in the main range. Inside, there are chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
