Description
The Hazles is a 17th-century farmhouse, with early 19th-century and some late 20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a machine tile roof. The building is L-shaped, with the main range extending to the north-east and consisting of two framed bays, and a lobby-entry positioned against a central stack. The south-east front includes a gabled cross-wing to the right, which is one storey high with an attic that is lit by a casement window in the cross-wing and a gabled dormer. On the ground floor, there are four windows: a 16-pane boxed sash to the left and three 2-light casements. A centrally placed painted brick porch adds to the entrance. The framing consists of three square panels high with straight tension braces.
