Description
The churchyard wall, railings, and gates to the Church of St Andrew were built around 1830 and are made of sandstone ashlar and cast iron. The wall features chamfered coping and is stepped to fit the sloping site, with heights varying between 3 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 0 inches. The section facing the road acts as a 2 feet 0 inches high plinth for the railings and includes a lych gate and a war memorial, which are not part of this listing. At either end of the lych gate and flanking it are stone piers, three of which retain their original octagonal shape with moulded capping. The railings and gates attached to the piers have spear-heads with tassels, and the gates also feature dog-rails with similar detailing.
