Description
Myrtle Cottage and Grafton Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. They are constructed with a timber frame, featuring painted brick and rendered infill, along with some brick replacement walling. The cottages have a plain tiled roof, with a brick stack located at the rear left of the ridge and an external stack at the right gable end.
The structure consists of three framed bays and stands two storeys tall. The framing includes four panels from the sill to the wall-plate, and a collar-and-tie-beam truss with queen struts is visible at the right gable end. The front elevation displays a regular arrangement of windows, featuring three 3-light casements on both the ground and first floors. The left bay contains a part-glazed door with a moulded architrave and a flat canopy, while the centre bay has a six-panelled door with four raised and fielded panels and a moulded architrave. Attic lights are present in the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected.
