Description
Leigh House and The Storks are a pair of houses built in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick and feature plain tiled roofs with kneeler brackets, gable verges, and integral brick stacks at both ends and at the center of the main ridge, which has a drip mould. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic and have gabled dormers. The front is symmetrical with six bays, showing slight breaks in the second and fifth bays where the main entrance is located. The design incorporates Tudor Gothic detailing.
The front elevation features windows and doors that all have hoodmoulds with returns. Both the ground and first floor windows are glazing bar sashes. Each large gabled dormer above the bays has a two-course band set above it and is corbelled out from the main eaves level. Each gable also contains a round-lobed quatrefoil light, and the entrance doors are part-glazed.
Although the interior has not been inspected, there is a Norwich Union fire insurance mark located above the first floor windows of the entrance bays. The houses share a similar design and are contemporary with Redmarley House.
