Description
The Malt House is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick on a sandstone plinth, topped with a plain tiled roof. The house features a large external brick chimney at the left gable end and another brick stack at the right end. It has two storeys and an attic, with a dentilled eaves cornice. The building has three bays, with windows that have cambered heads and are all cross-casements. The central entrance consists of a panelled door with glazed top panels, four lower raised panels, and a gabled canopy supported by moulded brackets. To the right of the central first-floor window, there is a Norwich Union fire insurance mark. The gable ends also have attic lights. The interior has not been inspected. There is a mid-20th century two-storey extension on the left side, which includes a gable end external chimney. The building is included for its group value.
