Description
Great Knighton Farmhouse and attached front garden wall is an early 18th-century farmhouse with alterations in the late 20th century. It is constructed of brick with a tile roof, featuring gable-end stacks. The west front is two storeys with an attic, illuminated by three hipped dormers. The brickwork displays coped verges, a moulded brick cornice, brick quoins, and bands to both the ground and first floors. It has three windows: two 3-light casements flanking a 2-light casement, all with brick heads. A central entrance is marked by a 20th-century glazed gabled porch which shelters a half-glazed door with an overlight. Inside, the staircase has turned balusters, and most of the doors are original 18th-century designs with two raised and fielded panels. The attached front garden wall is brick with stone coping on a sandstone plinth, complemented by pilaster buttresses and a mounting block to the right of the entrance.
