Description
Barrells Manor is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century, with an extension from the late 18th century and some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building features a brick front that covers a timber frame, with painted brick and rendered infill, topped by a tiled roof. It has a T-shaped plan, with the stem extending to the rear (north) being from the 17th century, while the front cross-wing is from the late 18th century and includes a central stack.
The south front of the manor has two storeys above a cellar and is adorned with a dentilled brick cornice. There are three windows on this facade, which are 2-light casements from the 20th century, set under rubbed brick heads. The central window has a semi-circular head, and all windows feature stone sills. On the ground floor, there is a central entrance with a semi-circular head, a fanlight, a four-panelled door, and a flat canopy. The rear wing displays timber framing with three square panels high. Additionally, there is a fire insurance mark located on the south-east corner that reads "Birmingham/ District."
