Description

This churchyard cross, located about 12 yards east of the Sandys Mausoleum, dates from the late 15th century and was restored in the early 18th century and late 19th century. It is made of sandstone ashlar and stands on a four-stepped plinth. The base is square and has moulded sides with quatrefoil panels. The shaft, which is octagonal and chamfered out to a square base, is likely from the late 17th century and features a sundial on its south face. The cross is topped with an early 18th-century pyramidal capping and a ball finial.
