Description
47 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It likely dates from the 17th century, with the front having been remodeled in the early to mid-19th century and further alterations made later. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and is painted. It features a steeply-pitched plain tile roof, which has been partly renewed, and has a brick end stack on the left side.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a two-window range, with a gabled rear wing. On the first floor, there are horned 2/2 sash windows. The ground floor has a 20th-century plate glass shopfront with a central entrance, and there is a passage entrance on the right. The rear wing displays square-panel timber-framing, a timber-framed gable with brick nogging, a first-floor casement window, and old tiles on part of the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
