Description
58 and 60 High Street is a row of cottages that have been converted into two shops and a store. They date from the late 18th century to early 19th century and have undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and is painted. It features a Welsh-slate roof with brick stacks, one located at the left end and another along the ridge.
The exterior consists of two storeys and presents a long range with three 8/8 boxed sashes. On the ground floor, No. 58 has a wide shopfront with a 20th-century fascia, two shallow half-canted bay windows with plate-glazing and moulded rounded mullions, and a central entrance with a 20th-century door. No. 60 features a small canted bay window with 4:1:4-pane glazing and a moulded sill, a doorcase on the right with a 20th-century glazed door, and a plank door to a passage on the left.
Inside, the cottages retain chamfered spine beams.
