Description

This is a barn and stables dating to the 16th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The structure is timber-framed with brick infill, partially weatherboarded, and sits on an ashlar plinth, topped with a tile roof. The barn is arranged in six framed bays, running north to south, with three bays dedicated to stables and three to a barn with a central threshing floor and a lower roofline. The west front has the stable range to the left, featuring two entrances and two ground-floor windows, with two loft doors situated above. The stable framing consists of three square panels in height, incorporating curved angle braces. The barn section’s framing has been significantly altered, and it has a softwood roof.
