Description
The Winnall Memorial is a chest tomb located about 12 yards south-west of the Sandys Mausoleum. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of sandstone ashlar. The memorial features a moulded plinth, inscription panels, and a flat capping. It has quadrant fluted Doric corner columns and fluted pilasters in recesses at the center of the sides. The capping supports a rectangular plinth and the moulded base of an oval draped urn with gadrooned capping, which now lies on the ground nearby. The memorial commemorates William Winnall, who died in 1796, Mary Winnall, who died in 1816, and Thomas Winnall, who died in 1833.
