Description

The Old Windmill is a windmill that has been converted into a house, built in the 1840s with early 20th-century extensions. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a circular tower with wings added to the east and north in the early 20th century. The original tower is battered and consists of two storeys above a cellar, which stands freestanding due to stone quarrying. The tower was raised by an additional storey in 1906, topped with a battlemented parapet. The windows are all 2-light casements, likely from the 1906 renovation. The cellar is accessed through a 19th-century ledged door with decorative strap hinges.
