Description

The Randall Memorial, located about 23 yards south of the nave of the Church of St John the Baptist, is a chest tomb dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a moulded, slightly hipped capping with a pronounced overhang, along with a moulded cornice and fluted corner posts. The sides of the tomb have rectangular inscription panels that are bordered with moulding and flanked by raised square panels. Each end of the tomb includes a recessed round-headed blind archway with imposts. This memorial commemorates Jane Randall, who died in 1658.
