Description
The Old Rectory is a building that has been converted into a house and offices. It dates from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The structure is built from handmade brick on a limestone rubble base, with the north elevation rendered. It features partly hipped slate roofs and brick end stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has a dentilled eaves cornice.
The facade consists of one plus three bays, with all windows having cambered heads. The single-bay section has a 4-pane sash window on the ground floor and 12-pane sashes on the upper floors. The three-bay section has glazed double doors on the ground floor and 4-pane sashes above. There is a two-storey wing that adjoins the front of the single-bay part, which includes a half-glazed door with a 4-pane transom light, flanked by multi-paned windows, all grouped beneath a timber lintel on the ground floor, and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor.
The main entrance is located at the rear right side and features an open pediment supported by engaged columns, with panelled reveals and soffit, a 6-panelled door, and a barred segmental fanlight.
