Description
Stone House is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century, mid-19th century, and the 1960s. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a tile roof. The original house consists of three roof bays aligned east to west, with various later extensions. There are two chimney stacks: one is roughly central on the west wall, and the other is located at the south end of the east wall.
The east front features two storeys and a gable-lit attic. To the left is a late 18th-century gabled extension, which has a blank gable wall. To the right, there are three windows: a 20th-century casement with two lights, followed by two 17th-century windows with recessed chamfered mullions, each having two lights. On the ground floor, there are four 17th-century windows with four lights to the left, and to the right, there are two single-light windows and a two-light window. The single-light windows flank the entrance, which features an ovolo-moulded lintel and a contemporary studded door. Inside, the house has ovolo-moulded ceiling beams.
