Description
Newhouse Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was remodeled in 1787 and has had some late 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a scalloped tile roof. It has a three-room plan that runs east to west, with a major external stack at the west end and a smaller stack at the east gable. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a cellar, with a chamfered cornice and plinth.
On the south front, there is a two-storey gabled porch located slightly off centre to the right. The façade includes four windows arranged in a pattern of 2:1:1, featuring various-sized late 20th-century wooden casements set under segmental heads with keystones, except for the window in the porch, which has a recessed surround. The entrance has a 3-centred head and a studded door, with a blocked doorway to the left. Above the entrance on the porch, there is a painted sundial with an iron gnomon, which is dated 1787.
