Description

This is an early 17th-century timber-frame house, with later 20th-century extensions. It is constructed with a timber frame and rendered infill, with painted brick extensions and a machine tile roof. The central chimney stack was rebuilt in 20th-century brick. The house has two framed bays aligned north/south; a lobby entry is located against the east side of the chimney stack, with a 20th-century extension at that point. The west-facing garden front has two storeys and an attic, lit by a gabled dormer and gable-end casements. There are two single-light casement windows on this front. On the ground floor, three-light casement windows flank a 20th-century gabled and tiled porch. The timber framing features close-studding with straight tension braces and jettied tie-beams.
