Description
Sinton Lodge is a lodge to Ombersley Court, now functioning as a house. It was built around 1830 and has undergone alterations and additions in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and a central brick ridge stack. It is a single-storey structure with a plinth and a moulded eaves cornice, designed in an octagonal plan with canted bays at the front and rear, reflecting the Greek Revival style.
The front elevation showcases canted bays, each with a glazing bar sash window topped by a moulded cornice supported by consoles. The central entrance features a porch supported by two Doric columns, which hold up an entablature, with large moulded consoles adorned with acanthus detail flanking a six-panelled door. There is a blind window on the right side elevation and side windows on the rear bay, all styled similarly to the front. At the center of the rear canted bay, there is a small wing with a pedimented gable end and paired ledged and battened doors below. Attached to the left side elevation is a narrow flat-roofed addition with a half-glazed door, which now serves as the main entrance and connects the original building to a 20th-century single-storey extension that is designed to be sympathetic to the original structure.
