Description
14 and 15 Green Hill London Road are a pair of semi-detached houses built around 1828 to 1830, with some later alterations. They are constructed of pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond, featuring red brick window arches. The houses have a slate roof with end and party-wall brick stacks that have oversailing courses and pots.
The buildings rise three storeys and have two sets of two windows on the first floor. The rear includes outshuts. The ground and first floors are fitted with eight-over-eight sash windows, while the second floor has four-over-four sash windows. All windows are set in plain reveals and have sills and flat arches made of gauged brick. The central entrances feature six-panel doors, with the lower two panels being flush-beaded and the others raised and fielded. The doorcases are adorned with fluted pilasters and panelled friezes.
The interiors have not been inspected. Green Hill was developed around 1828, and the houses at Nos 2-10 (consecutive) and Nos 12, 14, 15, and 16 form a notable group of early 19th-century houses.
