Description

The Mercers is a house dating to around 1600 in Powick. It is constructed with timber framing and has a tile roof, arranged in an H-plan. The timber frame is defined by square panels. The house extends over two storeys. The central part of the front is recessed, featuring a window to the left of the front door and two gabled attic dormers above. The left-hand cross-wing has a window on the ground floor, two on the first floor, and a roof truss with a collar, tie beam, and vertical struts. The right-hand cross-wing has a ground-floor window with a smaller window to its left, and two windows between the tie beam and the collar, the upper parts of which feature V-struts. Two chimneys are located at the rear of the property.
