Description
This is a 17th-century house located at 84 Beauchamp Lane, formerly known as Peachly Cottage. The building is timber-framed with painted brick infilling and a plinth, topped with a clay Bridgwater tile roof featuring gabled ends. It has brick axial and large external gable-end stacks.
The house has an L-shaped plan, with a cross-wing at the left (south) end. The exterior is one storey and an attic, presenting an asymmetrical east front. The cross-wing on the left has a gable end wall that has been rebuilt or faced in brick. The main range on the right displays square framing with tension braces, a 20th-century porch, and a raking dormer above. All windows are 20th-century casements. The rear (west) side features the gable end of the cross-wing on the right, which has a large external brick stack with set-offs and an oven at its base. There is a small 20th-century outshut in the angle to the left, and the main roof on the left is carried down over this small outshut, with a raking dormer above. The interior has not been inspected.
