Description

House. Built around 1600, Cromer Farmhouse is a timber-framed building with brick infill and a tile roof. It has a distinctive "H" shape. The original timber framing remains, though much of the ground floor has been replaced with brick. Windows are 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The house has a central two-bay section flanked by projecting gabled bays. The front door is sheltered by a gabled porch in the left-hand bay of the central section. Chimneys are located in line with the doorway and on the right-hand return wall. Wings extend at the rear of the property. The roof features steeply pitched gable trusses with two collars and vertical struts. Inside, some chamfered beams are exposed, and the roof trusses are characterised by their steep pitch and high collars.
