Description
Rose Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure beneath cement render and has a tiled roof with a brick external stack on the left side. The building consists of two framed bays and has a baffle entry. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers. The front elevation displays large square panels, two of which extend from the sill to the wall-plate, and the left gable end reveals an exposed queen strut truss. There are two ground floor casement windows and two gabled dormers with casements. A half-glazed lean-to brick porch is located at the left end, leading to a 20th-century timber door. Inside, the roof features queen strut trusses and single trenched purlins, with main beams that are stop-chamfered. A 20th-century two-storey cross-wing intersects with the right side elevation, and there is also a lean-to extension on the left side that encloses the external chimney.
