Description
This is a farmhouse, likely dating back to the 17th century or earlier, with significant alterations in the early 18th century and later additions. The building is timber-framed and has been refaced with brick, featuring tiled roofs. A large external brick chimney was built on the rear of the house, with a single shaft that has been rebuilt, and another external brick chimney is on the right side of the front elevation. The farmhouse is arranged in an H-shape, consisting of a central range, a three-bay cross-wing, and a two-bay service wing. The central range has a dentilled eaves cornice and a three-course band marking the division between the main floors of the solar wing. The front elevation includes a four-light casement with a cambered head, two first-floor three-light casements, and a planked door with a cambered head next to the cross-wing. The cross-wing gable end has a sash window with glazing bars and a cambered head, a blocked window of a similar size at ground floor level, two first-floor cross casements, and an attic light. The service wing gable end features an eleven-light casement with a cambered head flanked by two smaller square casements, and a first-floor casement with a cambered head. The interior was not inspected. A 19th-century outshut is attached to the rear of the central range and service wing.
