Description

Birtsmorton War Memorial is a First World War memorial made of stone. It features a plain Latin cross mounted on a substantial square plinth, which has a two-stepped square base. The main inscription, carved in incised lettering on the east face of the plinth, reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOUR OF 2 NAMES OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR KING & COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 UNTIL THE DAY BREAK AND THE SHADOWS FLEE AWAY."
