Description
Sledge Green Court is a house that likely dates from the 16th century or earlier. It features a cruck frame with walls made of timber framing and rubble. The building has one storey with an attic. The front wall is framed in irregular square panels, with a curved brace on the left side. There are two windows on the ground floor. The left-hand gable wall, which faces southeast, is made of rubble and has one bay with an attic window. The right-hand gable wall is partly obscured by a single-storey extension from the 20th century. Above this extension, the curved blades of the lower crucks can be seen, terminating at a tie-beam. Above this is a truss that includes principals, two collars, and vertical struts. The interior is reported to contain cruck trusses.
