Former coaching inn, now house and shop. C17, partly remodelled early C19 with later additions to rear. Timber-framed, brick infill, with some brick replacement walling and refacing; stone rubble plinth to shop; tiled roofs. 3 by main range with 2 bay intersecting cross-wing with large external stack and outshut at east gable end. Main elevation 2 storeys; refaced in brick in early C19; main part has 2 ground floor casements with cambered heads, 2 first floor glazing bar sashes, and a part-glazed C19 door with cambered head adjacent to cross-wing; cross-wing has ground floor 16-pane sash and first floor 4-pane sash, both with cambered heads. Brick chimney stack to left of main range ridge and external stack to rear east elevation of cross-wing. East wing: 2 structural bays, single storey and garret; ground floor casement; central planked door.
