Description
The Old Crown is a former inn that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. The building is timber framed and plastered, featuring some painted brick facing, and has red plain tiled roofs. There is a red brick chimney stack located on the left crosswing and at the rear right. The left half of the building has a hipped gabled crosswing that extends out to the ground floor on the right and is two storeys high. The central range is set back and consists of one storey and an attic, which includes a flat-headed dormer. To the right, there is a 20th-century two-storey flat-roofed extension. The façade displays a window arrangement of 1:1:1, featuring various 19th-century casements and vertically sliding sashes with glazing bars. To the right of the central range, there is a six-panelled door with two lights in a moulded surround.
