Description

A row of four cottages, likely originating in the 17th century or earlier, with alterations and additions made in the 18th century and later. The cottages are timber framed and have red brick facades. They have a red plain tiled roof, with a lowered section on the right-hand side, and three red brick chimney stacks, the central one featuring attached square shafts. The cottages are one storey high with attics, displaying a seven-window range of casement windows, which are either two or three-light, using horizontal and vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars. There are also two vertically boarded doors and two part-glazed, part-panelled doors. All ground floor doors and windows are set within segmental brick arches. Number 30 has been restored using original materials and is included in the listing due to its group value alongside the other cottages and the village.
