Description
The Old School House is a 17th-century house with a timber frame and painted brick, which was extended to the north in the later 19th century with a brick schoolroom. The building is arranged in an L shape and is two storeys high, featuring gable-ended plain tile roofs. The south range, which faces the road, has decorative quadrant framed panels and a truncated ridge stack. The north range has square framing, one gabled dormer, and a triple casement window on the west side. There is an outside stack on the west front at the north end, and a pair of casement windows in a moulded frame on the east side of the first floor. The ground floor has modern additions, and most windows were altered in the later 19th century. The later 19th-century school range is made of painted brick and features one large gable on the east side with two long mullion and transom windows.
