Description
Broughton House is a house from the early 19th century, built of red brick with a hipped valley roof covered in plain tiles. It has one ridge stack and is two storeys high. The south front features a three-window range with glazing bar sashes and incised painted window heads. The central door is a six-panel design with an oblong fanlight that has marginal glazing bars. A wrought iron porch with a tent canopy adorns the entrance. On the east side, there is another three-window range with gauged brick window heads, although the outer windows on the first floor are blank. The central door here has a moulded wood doorcase. Additionally, there is a small 19th-century shop window located on the ground floor of the north side.
