Description
The brewhouse, located approximately 50 metres north of Severn End, was built in 1681 and serves as both a brewhouse and malt house. It is constructed of brick in English bond and features a hipped tile roof. The building is mainly two storeys high. On the ground floor, there is a doorway with a wider doorway to its right, both of which have timber lintels under segmental brick arches. The first floor has six windows with segmental heads, each consisting of two lights with timber mullions and diamond leading. A brick dentil course runs along the eaves, and there is a truncated chimney on the right-hand (south) wall. The interior is said to contain a well. Historical records, specifically the diary of Sir Nicholas Lechmere, document the construction of this brewhouse and malthouse at Severn End in 1681.
