Description

No. 44 Old Street is an early 19th century painted brick house that has been refronted from an earlier building. It is two storeys high with low pitch roofs, featuring slate on the front and plain tiles on the rear. The house has a three-window range. The left end is part of No. 46, which has one window above and a 19th century shopfront below, supported by brackets for the fascia. The right side has a two-window range with a central door. The windows are exposed box sliding sashes with glazing bars and have segment arched surrounds on the ground floor. The entrance features a six-panel door with a surround that has slim brackets supporting a moulded hood.
