Description

The Old Hop Barn is a former cowhouse, likely built in the mid-17th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill and a tiled roof, consisting of two framed bays. The framing includes square panels, with three panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, long straight braces in the lower corners, and queen strut trusses in the gable ends. There are opposing doorways located in the center of both main elevations.

Inside, the roof has an intermediate queen strut truss and single, trenched purlins. The building is floored throughout, with partitions on each side of a central passageway.
