Description

This is a house dating from the 18th century, with significant additions made in the early 19th century and later alterations. It is stuccoed with a slate roof and large brick stacks. The building has a two-story, asymmetric plan and a dentilled eaves cornice at the south-west end. The front facade originally comprised a four-window range, which has been extended with further sections of two and three windows, plus a pavilion at the south-west end. All windows have stone sills, and the first-floor windows are glazing bar sashes. A projecting porch is present, along with a three-window extension to the right which features a Tuscan doorpiece and two plate glass sashes. A two-window addition to the south-west end has a ground-floor glazing bar sash, a six-pane sash, and a small casement. An adjoining three-window range has two blocked rectangular openings at ground floor level. A two-window pavilion adjoins this, featuring a central, part-glazed door from the 20th century. Above the two-window addition to the main part is an open-sided lantern with a ball finial and weathervane. To the rear of the main block are two early 20th-century canted bays.
