Description
This is a farmhouse, possibly dating back to the 15th century, with significant alterations in the early 17th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed and has roughcast plastering, a plain tile roof, and a brick stack positioned to the left of the centre. A smaller brick stack is located at the right end. The farmhouse is arranged in four bays, with the two bays on the left likely forming an open hall before renovations. A stack was inserted into the central hall truss during a later phase. The building is 1½ storeys high, with two 19th-century gabled dormers in the attic. It has four 19th-century casement windows, two on each side of a 20th-century gabled porch on the right-hand side. The timber framing includes cruck trusses with arch braces to the collar of the central hall truss. The gable walls are square-framed, rising three panels high to the wall plate. Trusses feature queen struts to the collar. Inside, the second bay from the left displays exposed ceiling beams with deep chamfers, dating to around the early 17th century, coinciding with the insertion of the stack. The room furthest to the left contains cupboards flanking the stack, with raised and fielded panels on the doors and butterfly hinges.
