Description
Oldwood Court Farmhouse and adjoining stables is a farmhouse and stable complex dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and again from the mid- to late 20th century. The building is constructed of finely jointed brick and features slate roofs and rear brick stacks. It stands three storeys tall with a cellar and has a dentilled eaves cornice. The façade has three bays, with all windows featuring cambered heads. The outer bays contain 3-light 19th-century windows, while the central bay has 2-light 19th-century windows. The ground floor and first floor windows have transoms, and there is a two-light cellar window in the left bay. The central entrance is marked by a lean-to 20th-century brick porch, which includes a 12-paned window at the front and a six-panelled door to the right.
The stable wing is attached to the left side of the farmhouse and has two levels with a dentilled eaves cornice. It consists of five bays, with the bay next to the farmhouse converted into an extension. This extension features two ground floor 2-light 20th-century casements and a large upper floor 3-light 20th-century casement. The remaining bays mainly have openings with cambered heads, including two windows with wood bars and a 6-pane window on the ground floor. The upper floor has two 2-light openings and a rectangular light. Additionally, there are two ledged and battened doors and a stable door.
